When Blood Ran Red
“A haunting, beautiful play”
Jon Marans, Pulitzer Prize finalist for drama
When Blood Ran Red is a drama inspired by true events and set against the backdrop of one of the most perilous times in recent history. It is the story of the great African-American actor, singer, civil rights activist, Paul Robeson, who befriended leading Soviet Jews during WWII. Sadly, when the war ended, and the allies became Cold War enemies the friendships became liabilities and circumstances led to dire consequences.
When Blood Ran Red brings to life a compelling chapter in our history, with themes that resonate profoundly today. It is a taught, dramatic thriller that weaves a tale of suspense, mystery and intrigue – where truth is relative, loyalties are questioned at every turn and justice is only achieved by paying the ultimate sacrifice.
